The seed for Refill Shipley was planted after I had my daughter. I started to become more aware of our carbon footprint, and started to make small changes at home by starting to buy in bulk and refilling our bottles rather than throwing them into the recycle bin.
We initially did pop up shops to get an insight into local interest and realised there were lots of like minded people! Our inspiration for helping others to make a similar switch came from our milk lady! Door step milk delivery is probably one of the best services that reduces plastic waste. We want to make switching to a more sustainable existence easy – reducing waste, without reducing convenience and for it not to cost the earth! Our own doorstep delivery service was born…
Refill Shipley offers a door step delivery scheme of vegan, eco friendly body care and cleaning products. Our bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic that you can use to refill your existing containers. When you want to re-order we collect our bottles and bring you fresh refills. Our bottles are cleaned refilled and put back into circulation. No new plastic is created in delivering these products to your doorstep. The more we grow within our area, the more we hope to make all parts of our processes sustainable and carbon neutral.
All our body care products are vegan and cruelty free and we have used ethical suppliers. Our household cleaning range has been exclusively developed for Refill Shipley and our products are vegan, biodegradable and cruelty free.
Millions of plastic is thrown away every year, a small percentage is recycled whilst most of it will stay in landfill for hundreds of years or worse end up in our oceans and in our food chain. We don’t proclaim to have all the answers but believe strongly that we can all make small changes that will reduce our single use of plastics. So lets make a start!
